Taieri Gorge - Dunedin

Taieri Gorge - by Old Lady

16th Dec 2007

We took the Taieri Gorge Train ride in Dunedin…The view that the ride offers was absolutely GORGEOUS!. Don’t get me wrong, the sceneries in the whole of South New Zealand were breathtaking… no doubt about that but when its only you and the mountains, creeks and light blue sky and nothing else, the view seems at PEACE.

Just gazing outside the locomotive into the other world, alien to us - the city dwellers – was an awesome experience… a view so worth indulging.

The lush greens, lively yellows and hue blue of nature is just so pleasing to the sight…I love the creeks running in between the mountains especially. They look so “contented” - a life so simple and yet so rich on its own.

Sharing as much as the finger managed to click-click while the historic train crosses viaducts with sheer drops to the valley below and plunges through tunnels as it winds through the gorge

We spotted this lamb during the ride…AWWWWWWWWWWWW….

The girls found a new friend from Germany… Don’t they look “bonded”?

Snap Snap during a brief stop between Dunedin to Pukerangi

The destination, Pukerangi. Yes!, that’s all they have…just a little shed painted “PUKERANGI”…hahahhahahahaha..well, Life is a journey not a destination – so enjoy the ride.
