We went to Redang Island by Berjaya Air (4 turbo propeller engines plane J) from Seletar Airport. It was a comfortable 1hrs 20mins flight (other than the aircraft being obviously smaller in size, it was a very comfortable smooth trip). We would not hesitate to take the smallish plane again for our next Redang trip.
The view from our Ocean-front-room at Berjaya Redang . It was a great feeling to wake up to each morning….peaceful indeed. The sea is clear and blue with gentle baby waves, the sands are white and fine. The weather was perfect during our trip, it wasn’t scorching hot nor did it rain.
Am glad the girls enjoyed their first snorkeling experience – we snorkeled two mornings in a row. It was an instant hit for Nell. She loves animal so much and being able to be so closed to those fishes was a marvelous experience which she enjoyed immensely. Little Liz unfortunately had some co-ordination issue with the snorkeling gears (the ability to handle the mask, the air-hose and the breathing is deem challenging for her age). We decided to let her snorkel with only her goggles the next morning, which helps a heap. She enjoyed the next day snorkeling so so much more. Tips; bring some bread along – the fishes will swim so close to you that you can touch them effortlessly. And if you are lucky enough, they would even at times bumped into your snorkeling mask. But if you are the fortunate one like Old Man - one bit him on the belly button (its those MANLY HAIR ….hahhahahaaahha)
Other “free” activities in Redang..which are equally a blast for the kids
Food at Berjaya Redang is so-so in my opinion but great enough for the girls. They like the idea of having varieties of ice cream with sprinklers to go along for dessert. I must say the Malay food at the buffet spread is actually very yummy (fish curry is one of the good one for me…Really YUM). Old man enjoyed the malay desserts. Summary – Go for the Malay Peranakan dishes from the Buffet spread, they are guaranteed Delicious. Well, its not surprising as this is Malaysia…..so nevertheless their specialty dishes would top the scale.
This is definitely a very enjoyable hassle free short trip. Suitable for everybody including those who is swimming- handicap aka Old Man. (He never would want to admit it but this trip proved 100% that he indeed cannot swim and I enjoyed highlighting it..hahahahaahaha)
…indeed a happy holiday
